Vintage 1968 Fender Deluxe Reverb Drip Edge Silver Face 22-Watt 1×12″ Amplifier – Clean & Serviced

Up for sale, here’s a CLEAN example of ab original (not a reissue) 1968 Fender Deluxe Reverb Silver face (Drip Edge) combo amplifier in great condition with a lots of mojo and recent maintenance (bill of service made), working in perfect condition.

If you’re familiar with these, you know these early ’68 Silver Face Drip Edge amps still retain the exact AB763 circuit, therefore these are EXACTLY like the Black face amps from ’64 – ’67 with an upgrades facelift. Fender now makes a reissue of this amp, which sounds close but quite not the same amp.

This ’68 Deluxe Reverb has been played mainly in Studio and constantly serviced. Cosmetically and functionally is above average and all appears to be original with the exception of the tubes and being recapped and a replaced pot (tremolo speed) and a 3-prong power cord for safety reasons.

Original Utah Speaker, dated ’65. All transformers and pots are dated ’67 (some of the transformers even ’65) however it’s printed ’68 date on the chassis which is an indicator this is one of the earlier Silver Face ones. Everything seems original, all original transformers and still retains the coveted blue molded caps. The current tubes are Magnavox Tubes on the power amp section, Ruby tubes on the Rectifier, and Electro-Harmonix and JJ’s on the preamp section. The Reverb unit and the Vibrato works perfectly well.

Aesthetically, there’s only a couple of tiny little dings overt the tolex, otherwise is very clean for its age and the grill cloth is original and in excellent shape with the perfect discoloration throughout the years with no rips or tears at all. All hardware seems to be all original. The amp sounds clean and 100% as expected. It comes with a newer Fender 2-button foot switch which is the perfect replacement and it’s included on the sale.

As you can imagine, Local pickup in LA is much preferred. Although i can ship it out to Continental US as an option, but you need to understand that shipping this beauty has a cost (It’s more than the courier, it requires the proper double box, padding and insurance) for a roughly 50 lbs shipment.
